After an hour of virtual communication, I understood something (comparing it with an interview by Picasso, Dali and some other daredevils from art): these guys were able to awaken their childishness, even infantility, but not in the sense that the child is unconscious and cannot himself feed, but that he thinks freshly and not in a stereotyped way. When a person is born, he does not know many things, but this does not mean that his thoughts are worse or incorrect. Yes, he does not have knowledge in science or philosophy, but the vision of the world in a person is inherently laid down, it is already present, even if a person is two years old. Another thing is that he cannot always express his vision, but what he expresses is taken for stupidity and lack of thought. So these artists were able to reject the deposits of social education and the standards of decency (including the academic drawing and the norms of the “right” in art), and give free rein to their subconscious mind to take a walk on canvas. Why does someone’s subconscious beckon us so? Firstly, this is something very rare, because all people quickly learn to wear masks. Secondly, it is something very sincere and lively, even a little animal. Primitive people drew the name of this animal instinct on the rocks of ancient animals. People probably have a deeply embedded and fixed desire to create images somewhere, maybe this ability is somehow tied to survival or reproduction from the point of view of evolution and genetics. People really like to make pictures, it’s not for nothing that Instagram has become one of the most popular social networks today, and selfie is already called a new disease of our time. But wait, the ancient people were “sick” with images no less, just the technical capabilities did not allow creating so many paintings and pictures before. People tend to communicate through visual images, it’s like a universal language that everyone understands, it doesn’t matter if you are Russian or Chinese, you are 2 years old or 102. How to learn to draw, as you painted in childhood? In fact, this is the main task of the artist who wants to get closer to the freedom of creativity. Follow the path of liberation from complexes, illusions, fears, conventions. Try a new one. Understand that in creativity there is no word “right” and “not right”, “beautiful” and “not beautiful”, “good” and “bad”. Any creativity is an intimate act, and as an act of love, it is good when all participants in this act are happy. In creativity, everything is even simpler than in love, because as they say, “the paper will endure everything,” but it’s better to say “the canvas will be glad to everything,” which is done from the heart and with love!
